In fact, they can be more fun because of the many choices that determine not only the patio cover or pergola under which you will cook, but all of the major brand appliances that are available from Lone Star Patio Builders. Below are some of the common Outdoor Kitchen Questions we receive from Houston home owners when they consider adding a new outdoor kitchen.
How much does an outdoor kitchen cost?
Our minimum price is $15,000.00 which DOES NOT include a patio cover. THIS IS A STARTING PRICE for a basic island & excludes appliances. An outdoor kitchen with a patio cover will START in the $40,000.00+ range.
Does Lone Star recommend, supply and install outdoor grills & appliances?
Yes but we can also install any Homeowner provided appliance too. We can help you control project costs by suggesting affordable places to shop for your appliances without sacrificing quality. There are several manufacturers and a huge number of accessories that you might want to consider.
What options will I have?
As many as you want & can afford.
- Stereo systems made for outdoor exposure
- Televisions that can be installed above a bar
- LCD and plasma televisions with hidden lifts that retract into a counter or ceiling
- Specialty lighting in natural or red, blue, green or purple colors
- Patio furniture
- Crawfish burners
- And too man others to list here
If you’re looking for ways to spruce up your backyard, you really can’t go wrong with an outdoor kitchen.
Can I get an outdoor kitchen for less than $10.000.00?
What are some good resources when trying to find the right grill for my outdoor kitchen?
So you want a grill for your outdoor kitchen and have discovered countless websites offering grills for sale. Some of them are retailers, some are contractors and others are just reviews. We suggest that you ask Lone Star to help you select the right grill by contacting us by phone or the form on this page. You should also go to the source whenever possible and get the information from the manufacturer.
Independent research is required after comparing grills on manufacturer websites. Like anything else you may comparison shop for, don’t expect the manufacturer to highlight the less desirable traits of their products.
Do you recommend grill carts, drop-in grills or grill islands for outdoor kitchens?
We don’t recommend any style of grill over another. We do recommend different brands of grill over others. When choosing between carts, islands, and drop-in grills, you will find reputable manufacturers that supply any of these and customers who are fans of each one for their own reasons. Don’t forget to add wood-burning brick ovens to your list of choices, since ovens have a different functionality than grills.
Consider how you will use your outdoor kitchen: Will you need to transport your grill to tailgate parties on occasion? Is space too tight for a free standing island? We can help you determine which style of grill best suits your needs and then find the right style, at the right price.
When cooler weather and rain settle in across Houston, does the family grill go into storage or get covered up?
With some help from Lone Star, outdoor cooking doesn’t have to be limited to fair weather.
There are many choices to select from when deciding how you want to tackle outdoor grilling or more advanced culinary feats when the rain hits.
- Add a simple and affordable aluminum patio cover or screened patio walls to your existing cover. Park the family grill underneath, and you can cook when it’s sunny or rainy. Install a light fixture and even the sunset won’t stop you.
- Add a full outdoor kitchen with a built-in grill, side burners, refrigerator and maybe a rotisserie or smoker. Put all of this under a custom wooden pergola / patio or Alumawood patio cover complete with patio lighting and extra electrical outlets.
Get a free quote for some combination of the options above. Include the outdoor kitchen appliances you really need and do without others to keep costs reasonable. This is likely where you will begin. And last of all, park the old grill under the eave of the home. No need to ever hold a flashlight in your mouth or smoke up the garage again. But if these were your intentions, you probably wouldn’t be reading this.
