Our Comprehensive Services

Aluminum Pergola Styles

Unlike a patio cover, a cedar or aluminum pergola is not supposed to look like it was built with your home. It is supposed to compliment your backyard while still providing shade for your patio. There are virtually no limits to the size or shape that can be built. When designing your project we can get as creative as you wish.

Material Options

We build with Western Red Cedar lumber for a more rustic appearance or we can also use cedar embossed Alumawood for your maintenance-free backyard shade project. Which is the right choice will depend on whether you want a contemporary, modern appearance or a more rustic design.

A pergola is an attractive addition to any outdoor patio space while not breaking the budget like some other backyard shade projects can. There are virtually no geometric shape combinations that cannot be built. We can design each aluminum pergola or cedar arbor specifically to match the taste and budget of each of our Houston area clients. We can also make customized electrical service suggestions such as installing custom outdoor lighting or outdoor ceiling fans.

What Our Clients Say

“I love it. It makes the patio seem larger somehow. I got a great fan that I like with a remote so nothing is hanging for a storm to blow around. I never thought of checking the GFI in the garage but it worked. Everything is wonderful. Now just need to power wash the patio itself.” – L. Purvis – Cypress, TX

“The Pergola is awesome! Your team did a great job. Service was top notch. Thank you very much. That was a very pleasant buying experience.” – L. Ross – Richmond, TX

“The Pergola looks awesome. The patio is finally dry during rain. We just got back from spring break vacation and have not been able to purchase an outdoor fan yet. Once we do so, we’ll call you to coordinate installation and final wiring.” – P. Alberto – Sugar Land, TX

Common Questions Answered

Lone Star has built hundreds of outdoor pergolas across the Houston area. We have used many different designs and materials. You might have a lot of questions if you are just starting to consider building a shade cover for your backyard. Here areasome of the most common questions.

What is a pergola?

A pergola features a lattice roof design intended to provide partial sun blockage for your patio area. Also known as arbors, these structures are versatile and stylish. Here’s why you’ll love having a pergola:

  • Natural Beauty: Pergolas serve as a framework for climbing vines, flowering plants, or hanging greenery. Imagine wisteria or jasmine weaving through the lattice, creating a picturesque scene.
  • Sun Relief: When the Texas sun blazes down, your pergola provides a cool, shaded retreat. It’s the perfect spot to unwind without feeling the harsh rays.
  • Customization: From rustic wooden pergolas to sleek metal designs, you have options. Plus, you can personalize your pergola with canopy coverings, lighting fixtures, and other accessories.
Do you use Alumawood or cedar materials?

The type of materials used will depend on your preferences as well as the type, size and shape of pergola being constructed.

Aluminum:

The most popular pergola material option is Alumawood. Benefits include:

  • Many color options.
  • Looks like wood but requires no maintenance.
  • Lifetime warranty.
  • More economical than traditional wood pergolas.

Cedar / Wood

Benefits include:

  • Rustic wood grain appearance.
  • Can be stained to any color.
  • Can be any size or shape.
  • Bug and rot resistant.
What are the benefits of installing an aluminum pergola?

An aluminum pergola, also known as Alumawood, is less expensive compared to cedar. It is also more durable and comes with a lifetime warranty. The Houston weather is no match for our pergolas. Aluminum can alse be customized into any size or shape.

Do you offer warranties on your work?

Yes, Lone Star Patio Covers & Enclosures provides a comprehensive warranty on both materials and workmanship to guarantee your satisfaction.

We proudly affer a limited lifetime warranty on all of our aluminum patio covers which remains in effect for as long as you own your home. The warranty is transferrable to any subsequent owner for a period of 10 years from the date of original installation.

Can I customize the design of my pergola?

Absolutely! We offer custom designs to match your specific style and functional needs.

How long does it take to install a pergola?

The installation timeline varies depending on the complexity of the project. Simple pergolas in the Houston area are typically installed in one day, while more elaborate designs may take several days to complete.

How much does it cost to install a pergola in Houston?

The cost of installation depends on the type of materials used and the size of the area. Without concrete you can expect a price of around $38.00 per square foot for one of our aluminum pergolas in the Houston, TX area. Cedar will be around $50.00 per square foot or more.
